Influence of tartaric acid pellets on the release behavior of a basic drug
Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the influence…
Papaverine is an opium alkaloid antispasmodic drug, used primarily in the treatment of visceral spasm and vasospasm [1]. Papaverine shows enhanced dissolution in multiparticulate formulations of tartaric acid pellets (TAP). By pellet techologies, dedicated drug release profiles can be achieved, which are superior to multiparticulates based on sugar spheres.
